St Johns First Aid Training

St John Ambulance New Zealand, through its Hato Hone St John team, has been actively providing first aid training in Niue. Recent training programs, including a four-day national capacity building and training workshop, have focused on equipping individuals with essential first aid skills, particularly in Alofi, Niue.

These courses have targeted various groups, including Niue Foou Hospital staff, government agency staff, and businesses, aiming to strengthen the island's ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

Strengthening Niue’s Private Sector: A Working Lunch with Hon. Chris Penk

The Niue Chamber of Commerce was proud to co-host a business working lunch alongside the New Zealand High Commission on Thursday 24 April. The event welcomed Hon. Chris Penk—New Zealand Minister for Veterans, Associate Minister of Defence, and Minister for Small Business and Manufacturing—who was in Niue for ANZAC remembrance events.

During the lunch, Hon. Penk met with local business owners and NCOC board members to discuss the challenges and emerging opportunities for Niue’s private sector over the coming years. Facilitated by NCOC CEO Catherine Etuata Papani, the conversation created a valuable space for open dialogue, collaboration, and future-focused ideas.
