In August 2025, Charlotte Magatogia represented Niue at two milestone climate events held in Apia, Samoa — the Pacific Youth Dialogue on Loss and Damage (7–8 August) and the 2nd Pacific Regional Dialogue on Loss and Damage (11–12 August).
Hosted with support from SPREP and partners, the Youth Dialogue created a historic space for young Pacific leaders to share experiences of climate-induced Loss and Damage — from eroded coastlines to economic and cultural loss — and to co-draft the Pacific Youth Statement on Loss and Damage. This statement called for the full operationalisation of the Loss and Damage Fund, meaningful youth participation in decision-making, and stronger alignment between global commitments and local realities.
On International Youth Day (12 August), Charlotte joined youth representatives from Nauru and Vanuatu to present the statement at the opening of the Regional Dialogue, alongside government leaders, civil society, and development partners. The delegation’s collective call emphasized that Pacific youth must have a genuine role in shaping and implementing climate action.
Together, these back-to-back events underscored a powerful message — that Pacific youth are not just participants but partners in building a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive Blue Pacific future. For Niue, Charlotte’s participation ensured that small-island perspectives, private-sector resilience, and youth leadership remain central to regional climate solutions.
